The 1994 - 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS is the last, and maybe the best, of the full-size General Motors muscle cars--big, powerful, beautiful. Production of the Impala SS stopped on Friday, December 13, 1996 along with all other full-sized GM cars.
When production of the Impala SS ended, we truly lost a part of history. Created in the 60's and 70's, the big, powerful American sedan represented the American dream. Now the Impala SS is all that's left of that dream, save a precious few older cars, now prized by collectors.
So if you are lucky enough to see one of these big, Chevy sedans with four huge tires and a "make my day" attitude, take a good look. You won't be seeing it for long.
